Year 6 camp

December4

On the 27th, 28th and 29th of November, the year 6’s went to Melbourne to start our year 6 camp. When we got there we first went to Science Works, went to a lightning show and to see how electricity works and what are the dangers to people when lightening strikes. Next up was the planetarium, we saw different forms in the sky at night, how the earth formed different to others and where the planets are. After that we went to the MCG for a tour to the change rooms to the actual ground and where the old library is, it was a tour of a lifetime. Next up was checking into the YHA [Youth Hostel Australia], my room was room 114. after we did that, we went to a nearby pizza shop, the pizza there was delicious, after that we had a ice cream and played tag for a little while. then we went to Galactic Circus and played lots and lots and lots of games, like shooting a basketball though the hoop and getting a high score, busting out your favorite moves and playing all sorts of racing games and simulators. After that, it was time to go and come back to the hotel and that’s the end of day 1.

To be continued

The band performance at school

October30

Yesterday, all of the students went to the hall and watched an hour long performance that Ringwood Secondary School put on. They did some music [all types], some singing, and even some dancing. There were two people from our school who had to go up to the front and do things like playing the tuba and conducting.  The host said  “people playing the tuba  always get the girls” and then two girls came up to  Alex and kissed him on the cheeks.  Same thing happened to Bella but it was two boys who kissed her on the cheeks.

The next two weeks we are going to visit Brauer College and do some pretty amazing activities like woodwork and cooking. We’ll get to have a tour around the school. I am particularly interested in seeing the gym. I am pretty excited about going to Brauer.

Play it again

September6

On Wednesday the 4th of September I went to Brauer College to watch a show called “Play It Again”. I went with my Mum and Dad they thought it was good, but I thought it was hilarious. There was three schools involved. W.E.P.S, Port fairy consolidated, and Merrivale Primary. The kids did all the script, acting, lighting, and sound [with adults helping them]. I went  to see it as well on Thursday with my school. Boss from WEPS, stood out for me because of his fantastic dancing and his funny jokes and hilarious Swedish accent. Congratulations to all the people involved.

science week

August14

On Monday the 12th of august, all of the WEPS students divided up into 12-23 groups that had a different animal, my group was the rhinos. We were doing an experiment on floating and sinking. I thought the diet cola was going to float, but my partner thought it was going to sink, but we [sort of] both got it right, because half of the can was sinking and some of it was floating, which was weird.

Parliament alive

July31

Yesterday, all of the year 5/6’s they had an hour of a session with a lady from Canberra who taught us lots of stuff like teaching us how to be like people in the house of representatives. And we also saw Dan Tehan who is really funny and serious at the same time. He even told us he saw Kevin Rudd whipping his hair back, and I got to tell you that I Garrin Williamson challenged him to a chess game at the Warrnambool Show, [or if he dose not make it, he’ll come to school] He even shook my hand!
